How to Stop Bored-Eating

Why are we bored-eating? We’re not depressed, nor we’re tired. We don’t need food to have more energy or to bring up our mood. We just don’t have anything to do.


Boredom is a lack of excitement. It’s possible that when we eat, our brain rewards us with dopamine (the happy hormone) and feel good so we do it again.


We want to beat boredom with pleasure, and food (particularly tasty food, which can be salty or sugary) is an easy way to do that.


You need to ask yourself before you pick up the next biscuit:

Am I hungry or am I just bored?
